MineCraft Looking for someone to run our server

Well as the title of this topic says, I am looking for someone that has either a second computer with good specs that they don't use or a good computer that they use that has good specs to run our server.

If you have the first one we are looking for then you would also have to let me remote control that computer to manage the server through TeamViewer.

If you have a good computer and wouldn't mind running our server off of it and you don't keep to many things open at once so that the ram usage wouldn't be taken away from the server gui and that the server would not lag then post here telling us and we will reply asking more questions if needed.

Also note that you will need a good internet connection with good bandwidth, download, and upload speed.

Does the server have to be hosted 24/7?

If not, I could host (on my own lappy). But no teamviewer, ssh acces is possible.

So you're running Linux on it?
  4. TheRevTastic New Member

I would like it to be 24/7 so the people in the uk could also play while other people aren't on, but it would also be fine for it to be on most of the day for people in the usa. But yeah preferably 24/7 but if that can't be done maybe from 12 hours to 17 hours a day?

Is that at him or me?
  5. 14mRh4X0r New Member

    Yup.

I live in the Netherlands, so UK people will be able to play alright.

I'll see whether I can get a friend of mine to let my pc stand there [IMG]

    (Was about to anyway)

Also through ssh, if you installed hey0 server gui, can that be used through ssh? Haven't tried it so I don't know [IMG].

A GUI will not work through SSH, though the CLI will.

On the other hand, I noticed hey0 has a plugin system, so I might be able to make a web interface or even a java interface [IMG]

That would be fantastic! As I want to use hey0 as it has the best plugin database so far and the best plugins for it.

I would run it on my father's PC if Minecraft worked correctly on it. It has a super connection, faster than lots of people. I would also like the server to run as a service so it doesn't interfere with him nor we he notice it while playing Freecell or using IE

I just heard from my friend that it's very likely that I can run a server @ his living group, which would be connected directly to the internet <3

Like, really directly. Like, no speed restrictions [IMG]

Now that sounds like a good deal, how long will the server be allowed to be on, as in hours at a time?
  12. 14mRh4X0r New Member

When my friend gets the deal done, it'll be 24/7
  13. TheRevTastic New Member

Awesome, can't wait! Will you be able to make the web/java interface for it too?
  14. 14mRh4X0r New Member

Where can I find it actually?

    Yup. Gonna be Java.

    FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the GUI doesn't work with hey0, right?
  18. TheRevTastic New Member

To be honest, I don't even know [IMG].

I like this idea, also, boys. super pumped for it!

Guys, bad news. The people of my friend's living group didn't want my server to stand there. D:

On the other hand, the remote control plugin works!

I just need to build a GUI around it and it's done.
