While I may not agree with the direction he took Apple, it would be hard for anybody to not respect Jobs for the drive & passion he had to forge Apple into the company that it is today.

    RIP, Steve.

There's always the hope that if you sit and watch for long enough, the beachball will vanish and the thing it interrupted will return.

For those that may not recognize the spinning symbol, it is used in MacOS as their equivalent of the "Please wait..." spinning hourglass used in Windows.

An interesting insight into his mind is his 2005 graduation speech at Standford University.

I was shocked when I heard the breaking news on Sky but in a way I wasn't surprised, he looked very frail and poorly when he announced last month he was stepping down.

You just have to listen to the news today and read the tributes, not just from friends, colleagues and competitors but also from world leaders to see how much impact Steve Jobs' vision has had on the world and how highly he was respected globally.

    RIP.

    Sad news indeed...

I had my first experience with a macintosh back in 86 or 87. It looked and worked brilliantly.
Had only used a Nascom and a Sinclair ZX81 before and I was amazed to say the least lol.

So thanks for some great products even though I later become more of a PC guy myself...

    RIP
